This is the story of a girl who spilled porridge on the side of St Michael’s Mount and landed herself in her own fairytale.
Olivia Loughty has been shrouded in darkness for as long as she can remember. Her little-black-dog has trailed at her heels for most of her life, so she gave up searching for the light long ago. But when Olivia's childhood best-friend requests that Olivia scatters her ashes across the country, Olivia is set on a path that just might help her find the light once more.
Olivia finds this on the side of St. Michael's Mount.
There, when she sets down her food, the pixies that live within the grass appear to collect their offering. Killian, the pixie who finds Olivia, offers her what many of Cornwall desperately try to obtain - a gift from the pixies.
"Saoghal" -- the world of the pixies that Killian offers her to visit, is everything that Olivia has ever dreamed of. Sunrises and sunsets, powerful magic in the air, and unique and unnatural creatures. But the strict traditions and unforgiving rules of Saoghal have caused a revolution, and Saoghal is under attack.
Alongside Killian, the warrior-like pixie who found her, and Raegan, one of the princes of Saoghal, Olivia won't waste a second trying to save the world that has saved her. It's a good distraction as she tries to avoid the fact that day-by-day, she's falling for more than their world. She's falling for them, too.
All the while, Olivia has to ask herself: are her new friends on the right side of this revolution?

"Saoghal feels... Saoghal feels sick."
The pixies of Saoghal, when asked about King Raegan of Talamh, have one answer at their disposal: He is as sly as he is cunning.
There is one person, though, who does not believe these claims. A human by the name of Olivia Loughty that once stumbled through their world and has long since been banished from it.
Panic crawls over Saoghal as whispers of the newly crowned King spread. Day by day, pixies of all kingdoms grow uneasy at what cunning plans King Raegan prepares for.
Olivia, inadvertently, finds herself thrown right back into the conflict of Saoghal. Except it is not a rebel group of pixies that threatens their peace, but the King that she considers a friend.
Alongside new friends and new enemies, Olivia finds herself torn yet again between right and wrong, unsure of who to trust and who to turn to.
Sooner or later, all light must pass. And in the darkness, the place that she knows all too well, Olivia finds someone just as familiar with it as she is.
But can they walk it together?
It is not light that will aid in the next chapter of Olivia Loughty’s journey, but hope.
Hope for a King that has lost the ability to do so for himself.
